Windhoek – The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) has successfully concluded its four-day stakeholder outreach programme, conducted from 27 to 30 July 2026, across the Omaheke, Kavango East and Kavango West regions.
The National Outreach Programme is an initiative by DBN aimed at enhancing stakeholder engagement, increasing awareness of the Bank’s financing solutions, gathering insights on regional development needs, and improving access to development finance across Namibia. The programme commenced earlier this year with successful engagements in the Erongo, Oshana and Omusati regions and continued with the latest outreach, which was led by the Bank’s Executive Management as part of the Bank’s ongoing efforts to engage directly with communities, businesses and key stakeholders across the country.
As part of the programme, the Bank paid courtesy visits to the Governors and Regional Councillors of the respective regions to strengthen strategic partnerships and reaffirm the Bank’s commitment to working collaboratively with regional and local leadership in advancing inclusive economic development.
The outreach programme attracted a significant turnout across all three regions, reflecting growing interest in the Bank’s recently introduced financing solutions. The strong response is largely attributed to the introduction of DBN for Her, launched earlier this year to improve access to finance for women entrepreneurs, and the facilitation of the Ministry of Finance’s National Youth Development Fund, which provides targeted financing support to youth-owned enterprises.
Commenting on the outreach, DBN Chief Executive Officer, Mr Titus Ndove, said:
“The level of participation witnessed throughout the outreach demonstrates a growing demand for accessible and relevant development finance. Through initiatives such as DBN for Her and the National Youth Development Fund, we are broadening access to finance for women and young entrepreneurs, empowering them to establish and grow sustainable businesses that contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s economic development.”
Since its inception, DBN has continued to invest in various productive sectors across Namibia to stimulate economic growth and create employment opportunities. To date, the Bank has invested more than N$23 billion in Namibian businesses, with financing approvals amounting to N$356.19 million in the Omaheke Region, N$331.92 million in the Kavango East Region, and N$131.34 million in the Kavango West Region, supporting projects across a diverse range of economic sectors.
The Bank encourages entrepreneurs, particularly women and young people, to take advantage of these financing opportunities to start, expand and strengthen their businesses, contributing to Namibia’s socio-economic transformation.
DBN remains committed to expanding access to development finance through continued nationwide outreach initiatives, ensuring that entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities across all regions have the opportunity to engage directly with the Bank, understand its products and access financial solutions that support sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity.
